Dr. Ryan's Mailbag: How Can I Get Rid Of Wrinkles Around My Eyes? Plus More...

Hello, it’s Dr. Ryan Shelton here and I wanted to wish you a happy Friday! Aren’t you just so glad that it’s finally the weekend? I certainly am - but before we can get the weekend started, it’s time for my weekly Mailbag where I answer two questions from two customers who need my help with their skincare concerns. Today’s first customer is Gladys in Des Moines, IA.

Q: Hi Dr. Ryan! I have been having trouble with the wrinkles under my eyes recently. Can you give me some tips to help make them less noticeable?

A: Hello Gladys! Certainly, I'd love to share some tips for tackling those pesky under-eye wrinkles. Dealing with them can be quite the challenge, but fear not – these tips are here to save the day...

Under-eye wrinkles can be rather stubborn, especially since our eyes are windows to our daily expressions, making them susceptible to wrinkles and fine lines.

To maintain a youthful and wrinkle-free eye area, let's dive into a couple of important things...

First and foremost, let's talk about ingredients.

Opting for a potent eye serum with powerful ingredients can work wonders in plumping up your skin and reducing the visibility of those wrinkles.

My personal favorite wrinkle-fighting ingredient is Niacinamide. It not only helps smooth out wrinkles and fine lines but also addresses other common signs of aging around the eyes, such as pesky eye bags!

This remarkable ingredient takes center stage in my Eye Recovery Serum due to its remarkable effectiveness!

Now, let's discuss the type of product you're using around your eyes.

Many eye creams boast fantastic ingredients but can be a tad too thick for the delicate eye area. It's crucial to choose a product that is lightweight and easily spreadable to avoid any unnecessary tugging on the skin, which could potentially lead to more wrinkles.

This is precisely why I hold my Eye Recovery Serum in high regard – it's featherlight and effortlessly absorbs into the skin, eliminating the risk of compromising the delicate skin structure around your eyes.

I meticulously designed the Eye Recovery Serum to strike the perfect balance between gentleness and potency because tackling signs of aging around the eyes is never a simple task.

I'm confident that once you experience the magic of the Eye Recovery Serum, you'll be delighted with the results!

My next question comes from Yolanda in Palm Springs, CA.

Q: Hi Dr. Ryan, I’m going through menopause and my skin has been so dry. What can I do to help this?

A: Hi Yolanda! I can understand that going through menopause can bring about some changes in your skin, especially excessive dryness. It's a time of transition, but there are definitely some skincare tips I can share with you to help you navigate it and keep your skin in good shape.

First and foremost, make sure you're staying well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water to keep your skin from getting too dry.

On top of that, a good moisturizer is key. I’d suggest something like my Repair and Release Cream because it uses squalane which is a powerful hydrating ingredient.

It also uses Shea butter which is going to help lock in moisture and help keep your skin from losing its hydration over time.

Next, let’s talk cleansers.

When you're cleaning your face, opt for a gentle cleanser. You want something that cleans effectively but doesn't strip your skin of its natural oils.

The last thing we want is to rob your skin of its natural hydration, so try using a gentle cleanser like my Lavender Oil Cleanser.

Another tip I always like to share with anyone who is dealing with dry skin is to try to avoid hot showers and baths, as they can be ultra-drying.

Stick to lukewarm water and limit your time in the shower - it might not sound as appealing as a nice, hot shower but trust me, this tip goes a long way!

Lastly, I think you could benefit from my latest product - the Peptide PM Shield.

This is an overnight mask that kicks hydration into overdrive and helps you keep your skin nourished and hydrated overnight.

Since you’re going through menopause, this product would be a game changer for you because it will help limit that dryness and help your skin repair itself while you sleep!

Keep in mind that everyone's skin is unique, so it's important to find what works best for you. Be patient with your skincare routine, and your skin can continue to look and feel its best during and after menopause!
